RANCH DRESSING FB

Don’t you really love a thick, delicious Ranch dressing?  The kind that gets your kids addicted to vegetables and relish plates?  The kind you love going to a restaurant for and getting a side salad?  I spent a lot of time buying different brands of Ranch dressing and do you know what I found out?  There are a lot of REALLY, REALLY bad commercial Ranch dressings.  I mean really, really bad.  The best I ever found came in a gallon jug at Costco (a little much for our little family of four).  But I have to say that ever since I found this recipe, my kids have discovered a new world of vegetables and green salads heavy on the cucumber.  (Even my four-year-old boy decided he loved salad after having this dressing on his!) It’s so good, but really, you’ll have to do more than just take my word for it and try it for yourself!  If you want to cut calories, try using greek yogurt instead of the sour cream and if you’re missing any of the spices called for in the recipe make sure you check your local supermarket down the Latin aisle.  Did you ever know they have spices down that aisle and they are a ton cheaper than the same spices down the baking aisle?  Check it out!

  1. If need be can you use powdered buttermilk and powdered sour cream? Have you tried it in an emergency?

    1. No I haven’t. Powdered sour cream tastes horrible in anything but baking. It’s like the consistency of glue. And the powdered buttermilk is the same.

  2. Thanks for all the new recipes, I am looking forward to trying them out. I mostly cook from scratch but for some reason salad dressings have always seemed to scary to try. Dumb I know, so I am excited to try these. Thanks for all your hard work.

  3. Can you use plain yogurt in the place of the sour cream? I usually have that on hand as I use it in the place of sour cream on my baked potatoes, etc.

    1. Thats a great idea. It will give it a little tang to the goodness of the dressing.
