I may or may not have a little love affair with Thousand Island Dressing.  It probably helps that it is also one of my favorite parts about an In-n-Out burger (Animal Style, of course!) and a Reuben sandwich.  My parents have really mastered the art of a REALLY good Reuben sandwich and it just isn’t the same with out a really good Thousand Island dressing.  Which is really where this story begins (well that and my love of Outback’s Thousand Island dressing-to me, they have hit perfection!).  I was visiting my parents and my mom had some cheap, nasty Thousand Island dressing to put on top of our Ruebens.  You know the kind, it’s all thin and gross tasting.  So I found this, and honestly, I’ve never looked back.  The other great thing I learned, is that dried onion flakes are perfect in these salad recipes that call for just a few teaspoons of diced onion.  Could not be easier, thanks to food storage!  This recipe is legit, for real, and every other describing term for the Ultimate Thousand Island dressing.  You’ll be amazed how easy it is to make!  Just serve it the next time you have someone over with a great, basic green salad and you will kick it up about a thousand (pun entirely intended!) notches.
