I really love Tuna Fish Casserole on those nights that are really busy because it’s done in under 15 minutes. Plus, with the help of food storage you won’t be stuck using that store bought Cream of Celery soup that is over $1.00 a can!  Just use this easy short cut recipe to make your own (plus make it taste a lot better!)  If you don’t have frozen peas you could always use freeze dried peas but they are much more expensive so I save mine for emergencies!

Condensed Cream of Celery Soup

1 C. Magic Mix
¾ C. Water from Cooking Celery
1 C. Chopped Celery, cooked and drained (I use dehydrated celery and use the water left over from hydrating the celery as my water)
Pinch of Celery Seed
1 t. Dry Parsley Flakes (optional)

Combine magic mix and water from cooking celery. Stir constantly over medium-high heat until it thickens. Add in celery, celery salt and parsley. Use in any recipe calling for canned Cream of Celery soup.

Round out the meal:

Serve with baby carrots or tomato wedges, fresh salad (let children have some fun and pick the toppings for the salad), and milk.

  1. Thank you for sharing your tips of using freeze-dried peas and dehydrated celery. In my quest to rotate my food storage, I don’t always consider the cost of doing so. I do use some of freeze-dried products when cooking, sometimes because it is faster and easier, sometimes because it is all I have on hand and sometimes because I want to figure out how to use it, because, let’s be honest the info on the labels just don’t cut it sometimes. You’re awesome thank you for sharing with us.
