all purpose cleaners

Even simple all-purpose cleaners can be made at home using ingredients you have around the house!  I have several for you to choose from, depending on what you’re looking for.  This are so easy, simple and cheap.  Anyone can make these homemade all-purpose cleaners!

Simple All-Purpose Cleaner

1 c. white vinegar
1 c. water

Mix in spray bottle.

All-Purpose Cleaner #1

1 T. borax
1 1/2 t. washing soda
3 T. vinegar
1 T. liquid dish soap
2 c. very hot tap water
1 drop essential oil or few drops of fragrance oils (for smell-optional)

Combine the borax, washing soda, vinegar and liquid soap in a spray bottle. Add very hot tap water, shaking the bottle gently until the minerals have dissolved. Works great on granite.

All-Purpose Cleaner #2

2 T. Dawn
2 c. water

Mix in spray bottle.

Be sure when making homemade cleaning agents that you never mix together ammonia and bleach.  It creates harmful gases!

  1. Hi! Love your site, recipes, and tips! I do have a question about the safety of mixing chlorine bleach with ammonia in the disinfectant recipe. I thought that was always a bad idea. Thanks!
