Ok, while we’re talking rolls.  This is my absolute new FAVORITE roll recipe.  Ever since I was little I have always loved the Kings Hawaiian Bread.  I can remember it being a sweet treat my mom would sometimes buy when I wasn’t feeling well.  While you can purchase the bread (for a pretty penny) the unfortunate thing is that when you make homemade bread all of the time, all store bought bread tastes stale–no matter how much you loved the bread as a child.  BUMMER!  But now that I have this recipe, my little heart is content.  Oh, so content.  Especially when you can use your food storage to make them.  Yum, YUM!  Plus, you can make some really, really yummy Baked Hawaiian Sandwiches (post coming soon!) with the leftovers, if there are any.  And if you really want to get on your friends and family’s good side, you will give these as Christmas neighborhood gifts!

  1. I notice that you didn’t specify which type of yeast to use. I happen to use instant yeast which has a different measurement than Active Dry yeast. Could you tell me which you use so that I can adjust (if necessary). Thank you.

    1. I use active dry (regular) yeast

      1. Thank you. Now I can make these for my husband.

  2. Have you tried any whole wheat flour in these?

  3. Can the dough be prepped in the bread machine and does it taste the same?

  4. How much water do you use to dissolve the yeast?
