Yeah! You know I love it when we get to learn something new. I was inspired for my topic after seeing this zucchini… That’s right. A zucchini as big as a roll of paper towels! It reminded me of a joke my dad tells that goes something like this…

A man convinced his brother to go to church with him. After arriving at the church and getting out of his car, the man locked his car. His brother was shocked! He asked the man, “If these people are so great, why did you lock your car…are you worried they’ll break into your car?” The man replied, “Because if I don’t by the time I come out of church someone will have put a bunch of zucchinis on my front seat!”

I know we’ve probably all had the problem of a vegetable or fruit that has gone gangbusters. Personally, I think having too many fruits and vegetables a great problem to have. Hopefully, your gardens are going well, they are a wonderful part of having food storage. There are a lot of great recipes that incorporate food from your garden and food storage. So in the zucchini spirit….next up will be three things to make with zucchini so you can literally eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner…I mean dessert. 🙂 Bon apetite!

  1. Yay! Cause I just picked our first zucchini of the season, and am already out of ideas, with about fifty more growing in my garden! I don’t want to waste them after going to all the effort of growing a garden, so I’m excited to see what recipes you have in store.

  3. In addition to using the fresh zucchini in lots of creative ways, you can also grate it up and freeze it, to make zucchini bread and other fun treats when your plants have stopped producing. Yum!

I wonder, can you use yellow summer squash in recipes that call for zucchini? We have a squash plant, but not zucchini.

  5. Oh I needed these recipes LAST YEAR! I got like 5 zucchinis that big because I would always forget to go pick them. And the only thing I could make was zucchini bread and I got too tired of it. This year my zucchini plant got eaten by something in my garden but I wasn’t too sad since we don’t really like it. Now if you post these delicious recipes I am going to be MAD! Hehe.
