TOP 5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE NYLONS IN YOUR 72 HOUR KIT

Did you know an old pair of nylons could be a great addition to your 72 hour kit? Here’s why…

  1. they are a great way to add extra warmth (simply put on under your pants) with out adding bulk or weight to your 72 hour kit.
  2. need an extra-large rubber band to help you carry items in an emergency? Cut around the elastic top of an old pair of pantyhose. Two of these, crisscrossed, work fine when bundling newspapers or magazines. Use one to hold a bag in place in a garbage container, too.
  3. in an emergency they can be tied together and used for rope.
  4. to make the soap in your 72 hour kit more effecient place some soap in an old nylon and tie it around faucets or near your water supply.
  5. you can also use nylons as a very basic filter for your water.

Bet you never knew nylons could be so handy-now you do!

  1. Never thought of nylons like that. Thanks.

  2. For this you need hose with a gusset. A good way to keep warm is to wear the pantyhose as an undershirt. Cut out the gusset – this is where your head will go and cut off the feet. Keeps you really warm, especially if you use thermal tights.

  3. My daughter had a co-worker show her that rubbing  pantyhose on a light-colored stain on a dark skirt took the spot right off. 🙂

  4. If your put a stone in the crotch, then twirl over your head, while holding onto the feet. Let go of one foot at the right moment and you can slay a dragon!

  5. Worst case scenario, you can also use them for a tourniquet.

  6. Place one over the end of binoculars or rifle scope as an antiglare device.

  7. I always wore panty hose under my snow pants to keep me warmer when I went snow skiing..

  8. # you can cut the legs off and use them as an emergency belt on a car and other mechanical things
    # you can store veggies in them in a root cellar
#make hair nets for under winter hats if you have long hair
#use them in medical kits for tournquets, on top of guaze if you have no tape , wrap broken ribs up, or other broken body parts
    # use them to tie together shelters ,wrap around wood to carry it easier, make a sling for an arm or make a slingshot for hunting
not to mention the other million things you can do with pantyhose…
