Now obviously, there isn’t really Red Wine in this vinaigrette. It uses a simple red wine vinegar and it will blow your mind. I got this recipe from my Aunt (you know the kind of Aunt who is an amazing cook and you love going over for dinner because it’s always gourmet and when you learn her secrets you find it was actually super easy to make?! Yeah…that kind of Aunt) who has used it for years for all of the salads she brings to any gathering. It’s amazing on a simple spinach and strawberry salad and gets instant rave reviews. My favorite use (and I think the most impressive) is on this salad which is just greens (spinach or mesclun mix), strawberries, blueberries, Craisins, mangoes (or diced canned peaches…come on, all the mango salsas do it and so can you!), nuts and feta. It tastes just like something you’d get from Zupas or Kneaders, except a lot cheaper and with out the long lines. Even my husband asks for this (of course, that is our secret 😉 So the next time you’re going to dinner and your assignment is a salad, or you’re hosting a brunch, or just want to knock the socks off of some guests–this salad dressing is for you! Just make sure you pair it with those ultra-yummy Hawaiian rolls I shared with you last year!

Okay, here is also where we need to talk appropriate bottles for doing vinaigrettes. The bottle you choose definitely needs to not leak because you will be shaking the bejeebers out of that bottle to work the oil, vinegar, and spices together. I use mason jars and am saving my pennies for this beauty! It helps keep you from dumping the entire jar of dressing on your salad (not going to lie, it’s happened a few times to me…whoops!) and makes it really easy to shake and store.
