We are so excited for our latest food storage class! In fact, we got so excited that we have so much information we had to split the class up. Nothing worth doing is not worth over doing, right?! We hope you enjoy this class and get inspired dehydrate your own foods! Home dehydrating your foods can save you a lot of money and space in your food storage.
But what about those new freeze-driers?
Now you may be wondering about the new fancy-dancy freeze-driers on the market….we’ll tell you simply, don’t waste your money on it (or get Debbie started on it, she is passionate about this subject! lol). They cost $3,500 vs. $200 for a nice dehydrator and the food takes up to 2-3x times the space of dehydrated food on your shelf. Debbie has taste tested the home dehydrated and home freeze-dried food and, hands down-the dehydrated tastes better. You see, when you dehydrate the food it concentrates the flavors and adds a flavor punch to your favorite foods. In fact, Debbie has used dehydrated tomato slices, hydrated, on burgers at a family party…and no one knew. TRUE STORY! To me, that is AMAZING! Really, it’s a no brainer. Dehydrating opens the door to storing your family’s favorite foods in a way you use them that you just can’t buy. When you learn how to dehydrate from home, it is a remarkable skill that your entire family will benefit from.

IDEAS FOR TEACHING OTHERS ABOUT FOOD STORAGE:
We hope this class has inspired you to get a little more prepared and to use more of your food storage. As we see it, one of the greatest reasons to have a food storage is ultimately to be able to help others. We are put here to make the world a better place and so we encourage you to give back by teaching neighbors, friends and communities what you have learned. So please feel free to use our handouts or any of our ideas as you teach others and get them excited about being prepared. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
- Get friends together to one (or all) of these items at your house.
- Pass along our handouts of instructions to make these three items.
- Show how to make one of these at the beginning of one of your church gatherings or do a whole meeting for it!
- Share the link to this class on Facebook or through E-mail.
