If you have our book, Store This, Not That!, you know we are huge fans of Jar Boxes.  So we were so excited when they offered to host a giveaway to give you the opportunity to win 2 FREE Jar Boxes.

5 Amazing Reasons You’ll Love Jar Boxes

  •  They are a great way to keep your canning jars, clean, organized and safe from breaking–even during the shaking of an earthquake.
  • Each box includes two sturdy, plastic molded trays that snap together securely to hold a dozen canning jars.
  • These boxes can then be stacked together with other jar boxes; which helps to ensure the stability and safety of the jars’ contents.
  • They shells can also be separated into 2 trays and come in both quart-sized and pint-sized boxes.
  • Also, both hold regular and wide-mouth canning jars and are dishwasher safe.

To sum up…they are A-W-E-S-O-M-E and a great investment if you live anywhere near earthquake country or simply want to protect all of that handwork you put into canning.

It’s simple to do, simply log in below (so we know how to contact you if you win) and share it on Facebook and/or subscribe to our new YouTube Channel, “Everyday Food Storage” where Crystal posts a new weekly video teaching you how to use food storage in everyday ways. You only have until May 14, 2017 to enter, so just take a few minutes and sign up.  Fingers crossed that you’re the lucky winner!

  1. Great job on the canning video! Today I canned some hamburger after being inspired by the skillet penne video. Guess I’ll can some beans tomorrow. Thanks for the push to action!

  2. What is your favorite way th can burger?

  3. Great video! I would love to see how you make & can tomato sauce & Paste.
    Thanks!

  4. What about canning meat and poultry?

    1. Hi Dawn,
I don’t think either of us has canned tomato sauce or paste. I use canned or powdered. I tried spaghetti sauce once and it turned out orange and funny tasting. Do you can these?

  5. I have made tomato sauce by first using my victorio strainer, then cooking the seedless tomato pulp down until sauce consistency, then canning. Not sure I want to do that again!!!

Also, why not can the rinsed beans before soaking? So it would be ? I think 1/2 cup dry beans (sorted/rinsed) and hot water to within 1 inch of top of jar?
