fresh-tasting salsa from your pantry

Done in under 5 minutes, this restaurant-style salsa is super delicious and easy to make with ingredients from your pantry…it’s bound to be a zesty side your family will love.

I’ll admit it, I’m totally addicted to salsa and chips…especially from a restaurant.  But, if you follow me on Instagram, you also know that I’m totally addicted to recreating restaurant meals at home.  So, it isn’t really surprising that when Debbie gave me this recipe for making restaurant-style salsa at home using items out of my pantry, I was incredibly excited!  Since that day, I’ve made this salsa over and over again for friends and family, but their favorite variation is the MANGO SALSA.  Yep, by adding in a drained can of diced mangoes, this recipes goes over-the-top good.  Plus, this mango salsa is incredibly cheap!  It makes just as much as that big tub from Costco, but costs only a few dollars to make…plus, you can have it anytime you want without the trip to Costco.   If you really want to take your chips and salsa up a notch to taste like a restaurant, heat your chips in the microwave before serving with the salsa!

MORE SIMPLE IDEAS FOR USING CANNED TOMATOES

Canned tomatoes are a great addition to your food storage!  (I prefer them over the freeze-dried variety because the freeze-dried tomatoes cost 8x the price of canned, plus they have a sun-dried taste to them which I don’t care for.  Also, canned tomatoes come in their own liquid that you can use for extra flavor in your rice or other dishes you are making. I actually use canned diced tomatoes in a variety of recipes for soups (like this Chipotle Tortilla Soup ) but also as a substitute for fresh tomatoes (like in this amazing Creamy Lemon Garlic Alfredo).  Simply, drain and rinse the tomatoes and use them in salads or pasta to save you time from all of that dicing and chopping!

Before you print the recipe, make sure you subscribe to my YouTube Channel!  So you never miss a new video!  Every week I post a new video with more tips and tricks for using your food storage in normal, deliciously easy, everyday ways! And be sure to follow me on Instagram (@everydayfoodstorage) to see how I’m using my food storage everyday…literally…ha ha.
