This may be my favorite tip, yet! Did you know you can make your own Eggos? (Why do they call them that, anyway? They are pancakes or waffles…not eggs….anyway) You can mass produce pancakes, waffles, or french toast and then freeze it to eat later.
Chain Reader (a reader of the blog) commented on an earlier post, “I also make pancakes in mass and keep in the freezer. It just takes 30 seconds in the microwave for one and 45 for two.”
Growing up my mom would freeze the pancakes, french toast, or waffles two to a bag. Then we would put re-heat ours in the toaster, frozen, and they would come out with a nice crisp outside. We could eat them on the go or at the breakfast table. It’s fabulous!
So simple and so cheap!
I used to do this with our leftover pancakes/waffles too! I would also get out my pizza cutter and cut the waffles into strips, put them in a small container with some syrup and they would have a good to-go breakfast when time was critical. Kind of like having French Toast sticks!
