I know a lot of you struggle with getting dinner on the table each night so I’m dedicating a week to help you get it on the table each day (saving you money from eating out….and grief from your other family members 🙂 The first must do is to have a well stocked pantry. Dinner is too hectic of a time to be searching through every recipe you have praying that you have all of the ingredients. Am I right, or am I right? And the last thing that you have time to do is to run to the store to pick up that missing ingredient. I want you to like cooking and enjoy making healthy meals for your family so…I (with the help of my mom and dad….got to give credit where credit is due!) created a list of must have items in your pantry so that you can make almost any recipe. Go through and see what things you’re missing and then watch for sales so you know what you need to be stocking up on.

Great list, thanks! And thanks to you, I can cross a few of these items off my list since I have lots of powdered milk (like condensed cream soups, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, etc). I have loved whittling my list of necessities down with your recipes. Thanks!

Crystal –
thanks so much for putting this out there!! I think it is such a good list. You did forget garlic powder/or dried minced garlic. but we’ll all forgive you – the list is sooo good. I’m actually going to use it today as I inventory against it – and get ready for freezer inventory (least favorite task)
Keep up the good work you are doing here – I’ve sent links to your site to tons of moms I know – loving all the healthy recipies!!

Hi, I check your site every time it’s updated, but I have never commented before. I LOVE you you did this though. I think it’s awesome. I fully intend to print this out and use it, like the pp said, against what I have. Great idea. Thanks!

This is perfect. Do you happen to have it in word or excel format? I’m really just getting started Chrystal, and I haven’t had a chance to try out any of your stuff yet, but I know that there’s so much here that is going to lighten my load and bless my family. Thanks!!!

Great list! Some things I like to keep on hand for those crazy nights are: Hormel dinner entrees in my freezer (I stock up when they’re Buy 1 Get 1 Free plus coupons). Then all I have to add is a box of potatoes and a can of veggies. Dinner in 15, anyone?

Great list! I love having a well-stocked pantry. It’s so nice not to have to run to the store when I have to make something I didn’t plan on making when I did my grocery shopping. I started building my pantry by walking up and down the store aisles thinking, “now what did my mom always have on hand?” If I’d had your list, I wouldn’t have had to wander so much! Thanks!

thank you, I think you’ve pinpointed my biggest problem!

Powdered eggs have a shorter shelf life than thngs like rice and wheat; some only give ithem a few years. I have had mine for 4 1/2 years and have kept them cool; so far they are still fine. We have been eating ours down as we have been living almost exclusively on our food storage (and our garden) for the last two years.
It looks great, Crystal.

You, my friend, must be one of the hardest working moms in blogland. Like the other comments in this post, I want to thank you for your hard work, and I also wanted to let you know how much you are appreciated. As someone not being anywhere NEAR a place that sells the #10 cans, etc., I appreciate your listing a resource wherever you can, like the powdered eggs, like the started kit, etc. Thanks again!
